Communications Advisor

Full Time Permanent


Position Summary

  • Content and social media lead for UHN Education, and particularly Michener’s full-time programs and continuing education programs
  • Managing content across all print, social and digital channels, including researching, writing and editing
  • Acting as a communications consultant and providing expertise to internal departments;
  • Acting as editor for submitted materials, including Michener blog and internal newsletter
  • Managing Michener’s presence in media and creating social media and editorial content that supports Michener’s mandate
  • Triaging and acting as a primary contact for media requests; and assisting other with writing and media event tasks as needed.
  • Supports the content needs for events/ projects significant to the organization (i.e. Convocation), external communications and departmental communications planning and strategy as well as policy and guidelines development.

 Position Qualifications:

  • University degree in Communications or Marketing
  • 3-5 years communication / marketing experience
  • Exceptional storytelling skills
  • Excellent problem solving abilities
  • Precise attention to detail with the ability to be creative
  • Proactive, motivated and a resourceful team player
  • Advanced computer proficiency in MS Office, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator) and video editing proficiency
  • Experience with content management systems (i.e. WordPress) and HTML and CSS an asset
