DSM is recruiting for multiple permanent, full-time positions of General Duty Medical Laboratory Technologist in DSM’s Histology, Chemistry and Hematology/Transfusion Medicine Departments at Westman Laboratory in Brandon, Manitoba.
Under the general supervision of the Charge Laboratory Technologist, the incumbent is responsible for performing routine analyses according to established laboratory protocols.
Interested applicants must be graduates of an approved Medical Laboratory Technology education program and be eligible for or certified by the Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS). Applicants must also be eligible for licensure with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Manitoba (CMLTM). Previous related experience is preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered.
Days/Evenings/Nights including Weekends; 38.75 hours weekly; 7.75 hour shifts
$26.930 - $33.784 per hour, as per MGEU contract
Westman Laboratory provides service to 117 rural facilities in Manitoba including 24-hour service to the Brandon Regional Health Authority, which includes a 330-bed acute care facility.
Westman Laboratory is located in Brandon, Manitoba’s second largest city. It is located 2 hours west of Winnipeg, MB, 4 hours east of Regina, SK and 1 hour north of the United States border. One hour to the north is Riding Mountain National Park. There is a resort community within the park as well as numerous camping facilities and nature trails. 40 minutes east of Brandon is Spruce Woods Provincial Park. This park boasts a natural desert as well as excellent camping facilities and nature trails. A short drive from Brandon finds you in the Brandon Hills which has many walking and cross-country ski trails. There are also numerous lakes in close proximity to Brandon that offer excellent fishing, boating and camping.
There are many attractions and activities that operate throughout the year in Brandon and area. Twice Brandon has been voted one of the top ten cities in Canada in which to live by Chatelaine magazine. Brandon has excellent recreation facilities, which includes sports from hockey to English equestrian sports.
