Total staffing for the hospital including full-time and part-time staff is approximately 300.

PART- TIME REGISTERED MEDICAL LABORATORY TECHNOLOGIST – SMGH Laboratory
Position available Immediately

Job Duties:
• Available for all shifts (7.5h) including nights, weekends, and stat holidays
• Perform all routine technical and medical laboratory procedures in Core Lab and Transfusion Medicine including phlebotomy

Job Qualifications
• Current registration with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario
• Current member of the Canadian Society of Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS) or the Ontario Society of Medical Laboratory Technologists (OSMT)
• Minimum 2 years experience as a core laboratory technologist preferred
• Ability to assess concurrent demands, set priorities, organize work and maintain accuracy in a busy environment.
• Demonstrated computer skills in a Microsoft Office and Cerner Pathnet
• Demonstrated effective interpersonal communication and critical thinking skills
• Strong team player with the ability to perform duties independently and professionally
• Evidence of ongoing professional development and self-directed learning
• Demonstrated excellence in attendance
• Understanding and demonstrated use of good body mechanics
