Student Council

The Student Council serves as the students’ representative body. It initiates and directs student activities, acts as liaison with Michener staff, and provides information and a student perspective to many Michener committees. The Council consists of student representatives elected from each of the full time programs. Members attend weekly meetings to conduct business. A staff member serves as an advisor to assist Council. For further information or a copy of the Terms of Reference, contact the Student Council Office or login to Michener’s Intranet.

Message from Student Council

Student Council would like to welcome all new and returning students to The Michener Institute for the 2015-2016 academic year. We hope everyone is looking forward to a great year of learning, meeting new people and exploring the opportunities that await you.

Michener offers diverse health care programs, each of which integrate theoretical and practical experience, preparing you to be a confident and expert health care professional. The variety of programs at Michener makes this a great place to develop your professional skills. You will meet and establish connections with peers in your class and other programs, and build an invaluable network for long after you graduate.

During your time at Michener, it will benefit you to be an active member in your school community. We hope that you take advantage of opportunities to do some learning outside of the classroom. This year’s Student Council is looking forward to offering a year full of activities to provide a lively atmosphere throughout the school. We encourage everyone to get involved by helping out with committees, attending events, and speaking to council about student matters. From social happenings, to intramural sports, to the many other services we provide, Student Council is committed to meeting the needs and supporting interests of the students.

We look forward to meeting each of you as we begin this journey of learning and discovery together, and wish everyone a wonderful year and the best of luck. If you have any questions or would like to contact Student Council please email
