Speaker Series: Artificial intelligence - Unlocking the potential of ultrasound

Join us as we kick off Michener’s 60th Anniversary Lecture Series with our first talk by Joe Hostetter, MBA, RDMS, RVT.

Joe received his undergraduate degree from the Rochester Institute of Technology in Diagnostic Medical Sonography and his Masters in Business Administration from Amberton University. His scope of clinical practice is in general abdomen, OB/GYN, MSK and soft-tissue, cardiology and vascular sonography. For the past 18 years, he has worked for commercial ultrasound manufactures including Siemens, General Electric, Toshiba, and most recently MedaPhor Group Ltd, a manufacturer of ultrasound educational simulation equipment. Currently, Joe works as the Business Development Manager covering the Northeastern United States and Eastern Canada.

This talk will provide an overview of Artificial Intelligence (AI) based products that are in production at MedaPhor Group Ltd, including ScanNav and NeedleGuide. These tools will assist the diagnostician in ensuring that organ borders are not missed, use AI to alert clinicians to abnormal areas in acquired images and utilize advanced AI algorithms to assist anesthesiologists and other physicians during needle guided nerve block procedures.
