POSITION SUMMARY
The Medical Imaging Patient Service Unit is expanding their services and seeking dynamic individuals. The MRI technologist will work with the MR team. Duties will consist of, but not be limited to:

 

Provide exceptional patient care in a variety of clinical cases which include neuro, musculoskeletal, abdominal and cardiac imaging.
Liaise with the radiologists, sedation area staff, technologists and anaesthesia for anaesthetic patients.
Perform scans on a variety of clinical cases which include neuro, musculoskeletal, abdominal and cardiac
Responsible for magnet safety for patients and staff
Maintaining accurate computer and image records with all relevant and required patient and exam information
Trouble shooting and ensuring that medical imaging and ancillary equipment are performing in an effective and efficient manner
Keep abreast of current trends and new developments in Medical Imaging
Will be required to participate in all shift rotations and on call coverage.
May also be required to participate in teaching student technologists
Any other duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS
Criminal Record Check (CRC) (Essential)
3 years pediatric radiography experience (Preferred)
CMRITO current registration (Essential)
OARMS registration (Preferred)
Completion of a post diploma in MR or recognized equivalent with MRI Certification or completion within 6 months of hire (Essential)
Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification (Essential)
Cross sectional anatomy course (Preferred)
Computer literacy (Essential)
Effective time management skills; ability to organize work and set priorities (Essential)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills (Essential)
Ability to work effectively as a team member, as well as work as an autonomous professional (Essential)
Ability to work accurately under stressful conditions, to be patient and family focused with customer service orientation
Available to work on call/stand by/week-end/holidays as required (Essential)
Bilingual (English/French) (Preferred)

Effective March 29, 2021, CHEO will conduct a more comprehensive pre-screening and evaluation process.  This process may include more varied and multidimensional testing such as a written test, practical exam, or other assessment. All candidates who meet the essential and preferred qualifications may be tested.
Bilingualism (French/English) will be validated by a language proficiency assessment conducted by a third party provider. Candidates will be required to meet the minimum linguistic profile prior to the date of hire.
