The Four Villages Community Health Centre

The Four Villages Community Health Centre has two locations in the west end of Toronto. It is funded by the Toronto Central LHIN. Four Villages’ mandate is to provide high quality, accessible primary health care that improves the population health of the communities served and works with other agencies to address key social determinants of health impacting health and well-being of clients. Primary care, clinical services and a wide range of health promotion programs while open to all residents in communities served are targeted to seniors, families with young children, youth and newcomers. Staff collaborate in an inter-professional team environment. The focus is on the client care and their self-care capacity building. We are currently seeking an experienced Chiropodist to join our inter-professional team.

• performs assessment, diagnosis, treatment, health education/counselling for diseases, disorders and dysfunctions of the foot and other clinical foot care activities according to the College of Chiropodists of Ontario;
• provides patient care including: biomechanical/structural assessments; palliative; surgery, including administration of a local anesthetic and performing soft tissue surgery; treating acute/chronic infections and ulcers; taking culture samples;
• ensures chiropody areas, resources, materials and equipment are maintained;
• provides foot health education to both patients and allied health professionals, and interested community groups or associations;
• assesses for assistive devices (mobility equipment) and completes applications, where appropriate, for the Assistive Devices Program, where necessary;
• arranges, wherever practically possible, home visits for patients unable to attend for chiropody treatment;
• where appropriate, develops partnerships and alliances to optimize health care service provision and address needs of community;
• maintains complete and accurate client records, assessment notes and required correspondence.


• undergraduate degree from a recognized university;
• diploma from a recognized school of chiropody;
• licensed and registered under the provisions of the Chiropody Act, Province of Ontario;
• current registration with the College of Chiropodists without limitations;
• professional certification- D.Ch. or D.Pod.M.;
• certification in Local Anesthesia, Soft Tissue Surgery, Injections, Pharmacology;
• three to five years chiropody experience in a community health or hospital setting;
• expertise in providing care to individuals with diabetes, arthritis, and other chronic conditions;
• experience in program development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation, an asset;
• demonstrated ability, commitment to and knowledge of community health care;
• demonstrated ability to work in an inter-professional team environment;
• proficiency in the use of computers and appropriate software applications;
• excellent interpersonal skills with clients in a culturally diverse practice population, and with colleagues;
• excellent communication, decision-making, problem-solving, conflict management and time management skills;
• second language, relevant to catchment area populations, is an asset.

Start Date



35 hours per week


$55,251 to $66,568
