The Santyr laboratory is seeking a Clinical Research Project Assistant to help support aspects of a research program in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) of the lung. This is a one year contract, with possibility of extension. The research assistant will work within a team to support several on-going clinical projects involving pediatric lung disease, with a focus on cystic fibrosis as well as lung diseases of prematurity. Duties will include assistance with recruitment of human subjects, organization and conduct of subject visits and subsequent data analysis. The assistant will also help with maintenance/compliance of regulatory documents (e.g., Research Ethics Board, Health Canada) and adherence with associated good clinical practice guide-lines.

Here’s what you will get to do:

• Be part of a dynamic research team working on state-of-the-art lung MRI techniques within a world-class pediatric healthcare environment
• Work directly with participants and their families to help ensure successful recruitment and completion of projects aimed at improving pediatric lung health
• Directly assist with participant visits, including scheduling, meeting and greeting, escorting and coordination of lab tests
• Learn and apply regulatory and ethical aspects of clinical research, including good clinical practice, research ethics board (REB) and Health Canada approvals
• Organize and maintain clinical protocols, data and regulatory documents for multiple research projects


Here’s what you will need:

• College diploma in Clinical Coordination, or related discipline
• or Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Science, or related discipline
• Excellent spoken and written communication skills
• Previous experience working in a clinical research setting
• Previous experience with regulatory aspects of clinical research including REB and Health Canada applications
• Familiarity with good clinical practice guidelines

Start Date



1 year contract (renewable), Temporary, Full-time, 35 hours per week
