The multidisciplinary staff provide service to meet the complex care needs of approximately 10,000 patients per year. We offer treatments in both our multiplace and monoplace chambers.

As a member of MO2R, the principal responsibilities of the Hyperbaric Technologist include:
o The safe and effective operation of the hyperbaric chamber and related support systems as prescribed by the attending physician.
o Monitoring the patient(s) responses during the session and making proper adjustments to ensure the patient’s safety and the safe and effective use of the equipment.
o Participating and assisting with safety drills.
o As inside attendant in our multiplace chamber you will be required to safely perform equalization techniques to adjust to pressure changes and assist patients by coaching and providing medical attention to ensure safe treatment while alleviating any concerns that may arise.
o Cleaning and maintaining the equipment according to infection control standards.
o Assisting in the delivery of patient care appropriate to the level of his/her medical training.
o Preparing patients for treatment by providing explanation of the purpose and procedure of treatment as well as education regarding pre-, post-, and intra treatment information/instructions.
o Collecting patient’s vital signs, vision testing, spirometry, ECG, glucose monitoring.
o Transferring patients from wheelchair or stretcher to gurney
o Assisting patients to achieve Goals of Care.
o Providing report to attending physician
o Keeping complete, and accurate patient records using electronic medical record
o Discussing patient treatment with attending physician and adjusting treatment, as necessary.
o Reporting to hyperbaric physician any adverse reactions.
Hyperbaric Technologist/ HBOT Requirements/ Qualifications:
Current healthcare professional certification or license as applicable in province of practice -to maintain throughout the duration of employment in this role. The qualifying pathways are:
1. Respiratory Therapist
2. Physician Assistant
3. Active-Duty Military Corpsman
5. Registered Nurse or LPN
6. Nurse Practitioner
o Certified Hyperbaric Medical Technologist (CHT) preferred
o The training and competencies necessary to become certified as a hyperbaric technologist is not an entry-level qualification, rather an additional certification beyond the applicant’s qualifying profession as listed above.
o Ability to work in a Hyperbaric environment required and Hyperbaric Medicine experience preferred.
o Ability to perform without direct supervision.
o Commitment to personal and professional development
o Pre or post hire completion (within 2 years) of an approved Introductory Hyperbaric Training Course.
o Two (2) or more years experience in healthcare preferred.
o Prior experience in wound or critical care preferred.
o Current Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR certification - to be maintained throughout the duration of employment in this position.
o Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
o Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
o Ability to stay calm and relax patients.
o Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word)
Casual/Part-time Up to 21.5 Hours/Week – Monday to Friday
Commensurate upon experience, starting base wage $27.03
