The Infection Prevention and Control Practitioner (ICP) promotes excellence in infection prevention and control practice and education, through the application of clinical skills combined with specialized infection prevention control practice and knowledge; within a patient and family centered care model.
The ICP utilizes risk management and continuous improvement methodologies in leading programs and providing expert advice. Acting as a specialty education resource with a wide ranging client base including; patients, physicians, nurses, health care leaders and health services. The ICP provides consultation, collaboration, advocacy and teaching in infection prevention and health promotion best practice and epidemiological principles.
This is a permanent full-time position. Days of work are Monday to Friday from 08:00 to 16:00.

•Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing with current practising registration with CRNBC
•Current certification in Infection Control with the Certification Board for Infection Control and Epidemiology (CIC)
•3 years recent, related experience in an acute care practice environment
•Knowledge of the interrelationships between Acute, Residential, Community Health and Public Health Resources in the health delivery system
•Strong working knowledge of program development and implementation and performance measures.
•Valid BC Driver’s Licence and access to a vehicle
