Position Summary 

Kingston Orthopaedic Pain Institute and our valued patients are seeking passionate Medical Radiation Technologists who are interested in Interventional Fluoroscopy pain procedures to join our progressive and diversified team. MRTs will work alongside Pain Physicians and Ortho / Sports Medicine Doctors to apply ionizing radiation in order to assist in diagnostic and therapeutic pain procedures.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

Operate C-Arm and acquire Fluoroscopic images for the Physician during a procedure;
Utilizes sterile techniques to prepare Physician’s trays and medical supplies;
Operate Radiofrequency Ablation equipment, utilizing techniques to ensure patient safety;
Educate patients about the imaging process, radiation safety, procedure details, post-procedure care and confirm patient demographic records diligently;
Adhere to MRT responsibilities as outlined in the Occupational Health & Safety Act and KOPI’s procedure manual;
Monitor patient comfort status and documents procedure;
Restocks supplies for the Fluoro rooms for the next series of scheduled procedures;
Complete other duties as required by physicians, charge technologist and leadership members.
Qualifications and Experience 

Kingston Orthopaedic Pain Institute has settled into a new state-of-art facility and we continue to receive a high volume of referrals from Eastern Ontario’s Family Physicians. Criteria to qualify for this role include:

 

Diploma from an Accredited Medical Technologist (MRT) Program;
Current registration in good standing with the College of Medical Radiation Technologists of Ontario (CMRTO);
Advanced skeletal knowledge and an ability to lift or move patients when required;
Educated in blood pressure, Oxygen monitoring and BLS trained;
Superior oral and written communication skills to develop authentic relationships with patients and colleagues;
Established organizational and analytical skills with a high attention to accuracy and detail;
Demonstrated commitment to life-long learning.
