Pathology and Laboratory Medicine – Surgical Pathology
Applications are invited for a Medical Laboratory Technologist position in Pathology and Laboratory Medicine – Surgical Pathology. Staff in Pathology and Laboratory Medicine may be assigned to London Health Sciences Centre (University Hospital, Victoria Hospital), St. Joseph’s Health Care, or other sites as required. This position requires the incumbent to be available to work 24/7 and on call.
Certification with C.S.M.L.S or equivalent
Current registration or eligible as a Medical Laboratory -Technologist with the College of Medical Laboratory -Technologists of Ontario with authorization to practice -relevant specialties in Laboratory Medicine
Recent experience in Surgical Pathology including:
Biopsy Gross Dissectioning
Demonstrated knowledge of the Institute for Quality Management in Healthcare requirements
Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word
Demonstrated accuracy and organizational skills
Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
Demonstrated strong problem solving and decision making ability
Demonstrated effective interpersonal, communication and conflict resolution skills
Demonstrated practice and commitment to the principles of patient and family centered care
Demonstrated practice and commitment to patient and staff safety at LHSC
Demonstrated practice and commitment to LHSC’s Mission, Vision and Values
Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis
Successful candidates will be required to complete a health review which includes providing vaccination records or proof of immunity against Measles, Mumps, Rubella and Varicella(Chicken Pox).In addition candidates will need to provide documentation of Tuberculosis Skin testing and a completed COVID vaccine series (two vaccines).
