Interior Health is a regional health authority in British Columbia. It is one of the five publicly-funded regional health authorities, serving the southern Interior region of British Columbia.
The South Okanagan General Hospital in Oliver, B.C. is urgently seeking a reliable and flexible Medical Lab Technologist (MLT) to join their welcoming team. This is a permanent part-time opportunity, days of work are rotating and shift times are days and evenings with participation in out of hours and overnight on-call required.
MLT’s performs a variety of routine and/or complex tests utilizing manual procedures and automated instruments within the laboratory. MLTs are also responsible for functions such as greeting patients, collecting and/or receiving specimens, entering data into the Laboratory Information System (LIS) and related computer systems/programs, validating and reporting test results, maintaining instruments and preparing solutions and control agents in accordance with established procedures and safety standards. MLTs work independently within supportive and cohesive team environment. This is a generalist Lab position and offers interesting and varied work within all areas of Core Lab including hematology, chemistry and blood bank.
SOGH is an active, rural hospital serving the communities of Oliver, Osoyoos, and surrounding areas that sees an average of 16,000 emergency visits per year. There are 7 Emergency beds and 18 acute care beds which regularly operate at 100% capacity. This busy hospital is co-located with an 80 bed long-term care facility and also offers outpatient Lab services.

• Graduation from an approved Medical Laboratory Science Program
• Current certification with the Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS) and eligible for membership with the BC Society of Laboratory Sciences (BCSLS) and/or CSMLS
• One (1) year recent related experience
$30.90 - $38.63
