Health Sciences North (HSN) is seeking an individual who has excellent clinical laboratory technical skills and can recognize, troubleshoot and communicate equipment/reagent related to malfunctions and initiate appropriate remedial action. The incumbent will demonstrate knowledge of Clinical Laboratory Quality Assurance Programs and proficiency testing requirements. The role operates within a continuous improvement culture using Lean principles focused on improving work and care at HSN.

The successful candidate should be a graduate of a recognized Cytogenetic/Molecular program and have a current professional registration and licensure with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario. Successful completion of the WHMIS certification and Mask Fit is required. We are looking for a candidate with recent and relevant experience in clinical genomic testing as well as experience with the following techniques; nucleic acid extraction and handling, PCR (end-point, real-time, digital), capillary electrophoresis for fragment length analysis, high-throughput sequencing (also known as next generation sequencing).
