Our Histopathology department is seeking a flexible and reliable Medical Laboratory Technologist to join their welcoming team at the Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops, BC.
The Royal Inland Hospital (RIH) is one of Interior Health Authorities tertiary referral hospitals and the Lab at RIH is one of our largest and most interesting. This is a full-service 24/7 Laboratory offering Chemistry, Haematology, Transfusion Medicine, Histopathology, Microbiology and point of care testing. The Lab employs a very large team of generalists and specialists who deliver both inpatient and outpatient Lab services utilizing state-of-the-art equipment and technology. Our professional Lab team, work collaboratively with other departments throughout the hospital and other Interior Health sites.
As a member of the MLT team, you can expect to contribute in a team based environment and perform a variety of duties within the histology and cytology areas of the Lab such as: routine and/or complex tests, utilizing manual procedures and automated instruments, including PCR testing, receiving specimens, entering data into the LIS, and validating/reporting test results.
This is a permanent part-time 0.8fte position. Days of work are Monday to Friday and shift times are 8 hour day and evening shifts. There may be opportunity to bid for additional casual shifts in the department or other Lab departments for those seeking to work more hours. • Graduation from an approved Medical Laboratory Science Program
• Current certification with the Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS) and eligible for membership with the BC Society of Laboratory Sciences (BCSLS) and/or CSMLS
• One (1) year recent related experience
$30.90 - $38.63
