Position Summary
Our Microbiology department is seeking a flexible and reliable Medical Laboratory Technologist to join their welcoming team at the Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops, BC.
The Royal Inland Hospital Lab is one of our largest full-service 24/7 laboratories, employing a very large team of generalist and specialist Lab professionals that work collaboratively within the hospital and other sites. As the Micro MLT, you can expect to work in a team based environment and perform a variety of duties within the microbiology, histology and cytology areas of the Lab such as: routine and/or complex tests, utilizing manual procedures and automated instruments, including PCR testing, receiving specimens, entering data into the LIS, and validating/reporting test results.
This is a permanent 0.8fte position. Days of work are rotating and shifts are 8hr nights from 23:30 to 07:30. Interior Health offers financial help with relocation, competitive compensation, generous benefits and employee services to support you at every stage of your career.

Requirements
Qualifications
• Graduation from an approved Medical Laboratory Science Program
• Current certification with the Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS) and eligible for membership with the BC Society of Laboratory Sciences (BCSLS) and/or CSMLS
• One (1) year recent related experience
Previous Microbiology experience would be considered an asset
