We are eager to hire a Molecular Diagnostic Technologist to fill in for a maternity leave, starting on October 23, 2017. This is an ideal opportunity to check out the west coast lifestyle in Victoria, British Columbia.
In this role, you perform molecular genetic procedures including: deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) and ribonucleic acid (RNA) extraction and quantitation from clinical specimens, all aspects of the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and reverse transcriptase (RT)-PCR analysis, restriction enzyme digestion and gel electrophoresis. You compile daily workload statistics, patient data entry, retrieve and prepare laboratory worksheets and reports. You provide independent analysis/interpretation of data, recognize abnormal patterns in clinical results and prepare and evaluate reports in preparation for issue. You ensure that STAT and priority tests are assayed and reported promptly and in accordance with established protocols.
Ideally you have a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology or Molecular Genetics, along with two years’ recent related experience. A certification in Clinical Genetics with the Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS) is required.

Full-time - 7.5 days
$30.26 - $37.71/hourly
