Duties
Principal Duties:
-Assists with the daily operations within the Nuclear Medicine Department
-Safely operates equipment and handling of materials in accordance with all Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) and CMRTO Standards of Practice at all Bluewater Health sites
-Perform responsibilities as the Radiation Safety Officer
-Acts as a coach, mentor, resource and positive role model for new staff and students
-Maintain equipment, supplies and accessories on a regular basis
-Participates in unit/department and Hospital Quality Improvement initiatives
-Completes continuing education requirements as necessary
-Other related duties as assigned
Requirements
Qualifications:
-Licensed MRT(NM) with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO) required
-Certification as a Radiation Safety Officer through an approved Canadian training program (i.e. Radiation Safety Institute of Canada) required
-Leadership education certificate or equivalent preferred
Skill, Ability and Experience:
-Basic proficiency in the use of computers required
-Recent leadership experience required
-Experience working as a Radiation Safety Officer preferred
-Ability to apply critical thinking, problem solving, decision making, conflict resolution and prioritization skills required
-Five (5) years recent experience in Nuclear Medicine preferred
-SPECT- CT experience required
