Duties

-Perform pulmonary-function tests, including spirometry, RAW, lung capacity, diffusion capacity, oximetry rest and exercise tests.
-Interact and communicate with patients, to effectively explain testing procedures and answer any questions related to our scope of practice.
-Demonstrate a positive and caring attitude towards patients, expressing tolerance and patience.
-Ensure accuracy of testing procedures.
-Communicate effectively (both written and oral) with all staff in a professional manner.
-Perform appropriate infection control measures, including the disinfection of equipment.
-Ensure that all equipment is maintained in good order, with a sound knowledge of calibrating equipment and trouble-shooting.
-Complete reports for Respirologists’ interpretations.
-Dedicated to the diversity of our community.

Requirements

*Registered or registry eligible with the Canadian Association of Cardio-Pulmonary Technologists (CAPT), or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
*Experience in pulmonary function testing, but will train the right candidate
*Current BCLS certification
*Strong communication and technical skills
*Ability to work independently
