Guests Attending

Guests should plan to arrive no earlier than 9:30 a.m. and no later than 11:45 a.m. (15 minutes prior to the 12:00 p.m. ceremony start).
Guests must enter via the main doors on Front Street.
- You can pick up your tickets in the lobby and then show them to the staff at the doors — there will be no admittance to the venue without tickets.
Doors to the hall will open at 11:30 a.m. for guest seating.
- Please do not occupy any seats marked as “reserved” — these are for graduates and faculty.
Guests should plan to stay for the entire ceremony (approximately 2 hours in duration).

Guests and family members (including children) cannot enter the gowning room, join the graduand procession, sit in the graduand seating area, or cross the stage.
Exceptions may only be made through an approved accessibility accommodation request.

Follow these steps if you want to invite a family member from overseas to convocation:

Write a Letter of Invitation:
You must write the invitation yourself, and it must be in English. The letter may need to be notarized depending on the requirements of the visa office your family member applies to.
You may wish to request Confirmation of Enrolment or Confirmation of Program Completion from the Registrar’s Office as additional documentation.
Send the documents to your invited family member. They must include the invitation letter with their TRV application to their local visa office.

All accommodation requests must be submitted email to convocation@michener.ca.
Details will be provided to you prior to the ceremony and staff members will be onsite to assist you.

Frames and additional Michener ware (sweatshirts, t-shirts) can be preordered (details coming soon) for pick up at Meridian Hall with additional stock available on the day.
Flowers and Class T-Shirts can be preordered through Convocation Flowers. Pre-orders must be picked up at Meridian Hall. Convocation Flowers will have additional stock available for purchase.
