Hello Michener Alumni,
Happy Spring to you all! It is now over a year since we have been living under this new normal. While it is reassuring that the provincial vaccine rollout is well underway, the challenge of increasing COVID-19 numbers still exists in many local areas. May you stay safe.
This my first alumni update as board chair; I previously served as vice chair. I would like to thank the outgoing board chair Hollin Ng for his leadership, dedication and service to the Alumni Association board.
Earlier this year, the board participated into two discipline-specific virtual meet-up sessions with current Michener students where alumni were able to share their experiences in the clinical world, provide a professional perspective, and answer questions. More sessions are planned for other disciplines. We went virtual this year for Career Fair and split it into a two-week event that connected students to potential employers, clinical sites and organizations looking to connect with Michener students and graduates. This took place over the weeks of March 15th and 22nd. Next on our agenda, is preparing for our second virtual convocation to be held in June.
