Happy Summer!
I would like to begin by welcoming our newest alumni to our family. Congratulations to Michener’s 2022 graduates on this momentous achievement. You enter the health care industry at a very critical moment and Michener has prepared you well. You will find yourself working among many Michener alumni across Canada and around the world.
I had the distinct pleasure and privilege of speaking at this year’s convocation, Michener’s first in-person ceremony in two years. Albeit in masks, it was a lovely feeling seeing people in-person after such a long time. Board members of Alumni Association were present to greet grads with swag bags as soon as they got off the stage, diplomas in hand. Our very own alumni board member Sousna Hanna delivered the valedictorian address reflecting on this graduating class’s experience in a pandemic and overcoming it all for their special day. The excitement was palpable among the grads, their families and friends, faculty and staff. It was roaring success and we wish the grads the very best of luck.
In the spirit of Michener’s focus on professional development far beyond graduation, I encourage the new grads to check out the Continuing Education brochure online here. It has a wide variety of courses, workshops and certificate programs, some of which I have attended and greatly appreciated.
