Duties
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Preparation: Attaching electrodes and monitors for ECG and blood pressure measurements.
Test Execution: Supervising patients during exercise or pharmacological stress tests, such as walking on a treadmill.
Data Collection: Recording heart rate, blood pressure, and other relevant data during the test.
Equipment Maintenance: Ensuring proper functioning and calibration of diagnostic equipment.
Patient Monitoring: Recognizing and responding to potential complications during the test.
Report Preparation: Preparing preliminary reports for interpretation by medical professionals.
Communication: Collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure patient care.
Requirements
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in operating ECG equipment and other related devices.
Clinical Skills:
Ability to monitor vital signs, recognize cardiac abnormalities, and provide basic life support.
Communication Skills:
Ability to communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and other healthcare staff.
Education:
Some post-secondary training, such as an associate's degree or certification in a related field.
Certifications:
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certifications are often required.
