Duties

The Cardiovascular (CVT) Technologist will prepare patients for and conduct such diagnostic tests as electrocardiograms, stress tests, Holter monitors and loop recorders in an accurate, professional, and timely manner. CV Technologists are responsible for providing preliminary results of stress tests, Holter monitors and ECGs to the most responsible care provider CV Technologists are responsible for the use and maintenance of supplies and equipment and may assist in the clerical duties associated with scheduling and filing results of ECG tests.

Requirements

Requirements:
• Graduate of a recognized Cardiovascular Technologist program or equivalent.
• Current registration with the Canadian Society of Cardiology Technologists (CSCT)
• Good knowledge of EKG, Exercise tolerance and Holter scanning/analysis and reporting.
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support certification (BCLS).
• Good working knowledge and navigation of computers.
• Evidence of continuing professional development.
• Successfully able to perform their function in accordance with prescribed standards that focuses on the priority of People Safety and the delivery of the highest standard of Quality Care.
• Demonstrate the physical and mental capabilities necessary for proper and efficient performance of the essential duties of the position.
