Bargaining Unit: NON-UNION Health Care Professional
Status: Full Time (1.0 FTE)
Rate of Pay: $38.00 - $49.29 per hour
Department: Ambulatory Care
Site: SJCG (0.8FTE) & TBRHSC (0.2 FTE)
Shifts: Days (M -F)
The Chiropodist is a primary care practitioner treating both inpatients and outpatients of St. Joseph's Care Group (SJCG). The Chiropodist is a member of the Diabetes Health and Wound Care Services Team. The incumbent is accountable for comprehensive preventative, palliative and curative treatment of foot disorders and foot problems using acquired assessment, treatment and prevention skills. As a chiropodist specializing in wound care for SJCG, this role is crucial in addressing and managing foot-related complications that may arise in patients with diabetes, vascular disease and other conditions that may compromise foot health. This accountability includes following the management model for the Service, following Standards of Care for Diabetes Health and Wound Care Services, and following the Standards of Practice of the College of Chiropodists of Ontario of which the Chiropodist is a registered member in good standing.

Requirements

Qualifications
Education/Experience:
- Diploma in Chiropody from the Michener Institute or an equivalent Canadian post-secondary program, or the podiatric equivalent from the U.S.A. or Britain
- Registered member in good standing (or eligibility for membership) with the College of Chiropodists of Ontario
- Qualified in Local Anaesthesia and Soft Tissue Surgery

Skills/Abilities:
- Demonstrated ability to practice independently
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and team-building skills
- Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in the assessment, treatment and management of clients with foot disorders, foot problems, wound care and offloading
- Demonstrated computer skills

CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT

Must undergo a successful Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC)
Will be required to travel to various work locations and provide own transportation
