Chapleau General Hospital, with 13 acute care beds, provides primary care in general medicine, 24-hour emergency services, 24 hour laboratory and diagnostic imaging. There is a medical videoconferencing and rehabilitation service facility that links patients to specialists province-wide.The hospital also offers a variety of specialty clinics that includes: Diabetes education, Occupational Therapy, Visiting Paediatrician, Visiting Physiotherapist, Visiting Chiropractor, Advanced Footcare, Dietitian counselling.

Duties

Position Summary:

Responsible for the efficient performance of the technical procedures performed within the Laboratory, and the accurate examination and processing of clinical specimens to provide timely information to direct caregivers.

Requirements

Qualifications:
- College diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology
- Current general registration, in good standing, in hematology, biochemistry, phlebotomy and transfusion science with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario (CMLTO) is required.
- A valid Ontario Driver’s License and own transportation
- French Language Service Designation: Bilingualism, English and French, is required. In accordance with the French Language Services Plan, if no bilingual candidates (both internal and external) meet the qualifications, unilingual candidates may be considered.

Hours of Work:
- 75 hours bi-weekly and must participate in regular on-call rotations.
