Duties

The Medical Radiation Technologist - Radiography provides General Radiography services for the Department of Medical Imaging under the supervision of the Manager and/or duty Radiologist. In their role they support collaborative, interprofessional, patient centred care and follow the standards of practice of the College of Medical Radiation Technologist of Ontario. The Medical Radiation Technologist - Radiography values an interprofessional approach and participates in program development and quality improvement initiatives. The Medical Radiation Technologist - Radiography is responsible for performing radiological procedures which include the application of prescribed ionizing radiation for the diagnosis of disease as requested by clinical consultants. The Medical Radiation Technologist ensures that radiation protection measures are appropriately utilized in order to minimize hazards due to radiation.

Requirements

Currently registered with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO)
Certification with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists preferred
Minimum of six (6) months previous work experience in general radiography
Portables and operating room experience preferred
Cerner, AGFA and PACS experience preferred
Demonstrated skills and knowledge in radiology procedures
Demonstrated excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
Demonstrated ability to manage change in a dynamic environment
Demonstrated commitment to professional development and self-directed learning
Demonstrated practice and commitment to the principles of patient and family centered care
Demonstrated practice and commitment to patient and staff safety at LHSC
Demonstrated practice and commitment to LHSC’s Mission, Vision and Values
Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis

$36.84-$50.24 per hour

Immunization Requirements: 

Before beginning employment at LHSC, all new hires will be required to: 

Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps, rubella and varicella (chicken pox), Hepatitis B, Tetanus/ Diphtheria/Polio; Meningitis; 

Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing (two step); 

Provide proof of Health Canada-approved COVID-19 vaccination reflective of Ontario Health’s current definition of being fully vaccinated
