Duties

Reporting to the Manager of MRI/CT, the Medical Radiation Technologist – Magnetic Resonance (MRT-MR) is responsible for performing clinical and research magnetic resonance scans.  The MRT – MR is responsible for ensuring that safe screening and scanning practices are followed to prevent hazards due to high magnetic fields.  The MRT-MR will participate in the training of student technologists. 

Requirements

Current registration with the College of Medical Radiation & Imaging Technologists of Ontario in the specialty of Magnetic Resonance
Member of the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (preferred)
Minimum of six (6) month previous Magnetic Resonance experience
Ability to perform IV insertions and inject MR contrast
Demonstrated skills and knowledge in MR procedures and post-processing of images
Cerner, and  AGFA experience preferred
Demonstrated excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
Demonstrated competencies in interpersonal relations, communication, problem solving, initiative, sound judgement and good work ethics
Demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple demands requiring attention to detail
Proven ability to work with minimal supervision both independently and as an effective team member
Demonstrated practice and commitment to the principles of patient and family centered care
Demonstrated practice and commitment to patient and staff safety at LHSC
Demonstrated practice and commitment to LHSC’s Mission, Vision and Values
Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis

22.5/week

Salary

$36.84-$50.24 per hour

Immunization Requirements: 

Before beginning employment at LHSC, all new hires will be required to: 

Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps, rubella and varicella (chicken pox), Hepatitis B, Tetanus/ Diphtheria/Polio; Meningitis; 

Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing (two step); 

Provide proof of Health Canada-approved COVID-19 vaccination reflective of Ontario Health’s current definition of being fully vaccinated
