Duties

We are currently looking for a Registered Nurse (RN), to join our inter-disciplinary team of skilled professionals. Reporting to the Clinical Manager, the incumbent is responsible for providing excellent quality patient care and leadership to members of the health care team within the nursing units of the Health Centre.
The hours of work will be all shifts, including weekends, and being on-call as required.

Requirements

More About You
You will need a current Certificate of Competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario to qualify for the role. You will also need to have:

-Commitment to obtaining an OB nursing certificate;
-Previous recent related OB experience;
-Demonstrated excellent communication skills, both written and verbal; ability to work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team and community resources;
-Demonstrated expertise in a physical assessment, health teaching, and clinical decision making;
-Demonstrated knowledge of various computer applications and software related to healthcare programs
-Demonstrated satisfactory attendance levels, work performance, disciplinary history and positive work references;
-Bachelor of Science in Nursing would be an asset;
A.C.L.S. Certification, P.A.L.S. Certification, NRP Certification would be an asset;
-Previous experience in obstetrical nursing would be an asset;
-Preference will be given to candidates with current certification in Added Nursing Skills pertinent to -Obstetrical nursing would be an asset;
-Previous experience in Nursing Skills pertinent to Acute Care Nursing (Patient assessment, Medication Administration, IV starts, Wound care, Tracheostomy and Ostomy care);
-If no previous experience with obstetrical nursing, commitment to obstetrical training within 3-4 months- breastfeeding course, NRP within 2 months. Enrollment in community college perinatal or obstetrical program within 4 months.
