Duties

Unit Summary

The Interventional Department at a Stroke and Trauma Centre specializes in providing advanced, minimally invasive procedures to address acute and chronic conditions related to stroke and trauma. This department plays a critical role in the multidisciplinary management of patients, employing cutting-edge techniques to improve outcomes and enhance recovery.

Position Summary

As a member of a Multidisciplinary Health Care team, co-ordinates, performs and evaluates Diagnostic Services examinations within the specific modalities and disciplines. Guides and directs clinical and technical associates and students in a teaching and research environment and provides patient care within the core values of respect, caring, innovation and accountability. Rotation though other modalities and sites based on qualifications and unit requirements maybe required.

Our Diagnostic Services team supports a high volume of diverse adult and pediatric patients and families, providing service in most areas 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Diagnostic Services at HHS includes X-Ray, CT Scan, MRI, Nuclear Medicine, PET, Ultrasound and Interventional Radiology.

Schedule Work Hours

Days, evenings, nights, weekends, holidays (standby as required)
will be required to participate in a call back rotation

Requirements

Qualifications

· Graduate of an approved training program in Radiological Technology.
· Current member in good standing with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologist of Ontario (CMRITO)
· 3 to 5 years experience preferred
· Interventional Radiography course preferred, CAMRT 1 & 2, including certificate
· Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) registration
· Membership in the CAMRT/OAMRT preferred
· Demonstrated ability to work responsibly in a team environment
· Demonstrated effective communication, organization and interpersonal skills
· Effective problem solving skills, critical thinking and the ability to prioritize in a fast paced environment
· Evidence of participation in ongoing education and professional development
· Complete understanding of Radiation Safety Protection Guidelines
