Duties
The responsibilities of a Vascular Technologist include the following: performing vascular ultrasound diagnostic tests; operating, troubleshooting and ensuring that equipment and instruments are performing in an efficient and effective manner; preparing written and electronic reports required to document all test results; performing other related patient handling responsibilities to facilitate the provision patient centered care; participating in education research, safety and quality improvements programs/activities; understanding and observing Hospital and departmental policies and procedures; adhering to Hospital and departmental mission and value statements; maintaining patient confidentiality; performing other duties consistent with the job classification, or as requested.
The successful applicant will be prepared to receive on-the-job training in the performance of vascular laboratory studies.
Requirements
Completion of a recognized post diploma Ultrasound program
Registration with the American Registry of Diagnostic Sonographers (ARDMS) or working towards
Registration with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO) or working towards
Active membership with the Canadian Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers, (CSDMS) preferred
Basic Cardiac Life Support (B.C.L.S.) program
