Duties

Position Summary:
Reporting to the Director, Clinical Education and Patient Care, applications are being accepted for the X-Ray Technologist position. The successful candidate is expected to have demonstrated expertise in the preparation and operation, of the Radiology facility, equipment and supplies inventory as well as instructing CE 4408 classes.

Responsibilities:
 Instructs and demonstrates proper radiographic positioning techniques and theory to Year IV interns. Supervises interns taking radiographs on patients. Bases teaching methods on knowledge of various learning styles and improves or modifies methods based on peer and student evaluations.
 Performs general radiography procedures.
 Ensures that procedures in the department meet the Ministry of Labour standards for individuals working with ionizing radiation. Ensures students understand and comply with Health and Safety guidelines and standards at all times.
 Is prepared for teaching and ensures learning materials are available. Ensures depth and scope of course are consistent with institution and program outcomes, and meet course learning objectives.
 Responsible for tracking and/or recording satisfactory student quantitative requirements.
 Ensures that the assessment questions are appropriate for the course outcomes.
 Analyzes and uses assessment outcomes for improvement of the course.
 Ensures timely delivery of assessment materials.
 Proctors exams when necessary.
 Participates in grading assignments as required and provides advice/correction/remediation as needed.
 Conducts daily testing of equipment, arranges for repairs as necessary, schedules ongoing radiographic equipment maintenance, and tracks ongoing necessary quality assurance procedures.
• Performs other duties as required.

Requirements

Qualifications:
-Academic
• In good standing with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO).
• Graduate of a recognized Radiography program
• Must demonstrate appropriate liability coverage.
• Certification as an Ultrasound Technician (in good standing with the regulatory college) an asset but not required.

-Skills and Knowledge
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience
• Small group/lab and/or lecture teaching experience preferred
• Demonstrated track record of research an asset but not required
• Must have a current certification in Standard First Aid and CPR/AED Level C
• Experience as a Clinical Instructor preferred
• Computer literacy required
• Contribute to the creation, critical appraisal, application, transfer and/or translation of health care knowledge and practice
• Outstanding communication, interpersonal and leadership skills
• Adaptable to work flexible schedule
• Completion of TEP course (offered by CMCC) within the timeframe stipulated by CMCC
• Models professional attributes and the core values of CMCC, Communication, Accountability, Respect & Excellence

Full - Time (35 hours/week, Monday-Thursday, either 10:00am to 6:00pm OR 12:00pm to 8:00pm, Friday shift is 10:00am to 6:00pm), No weekend work required

Salary

Technologist 1 Salary Range (Step 1 $49,809 - Step 9 $63,096) OR Technologist 2 Salary Range (Step 1 $58,650 - Step 9 $74,296)
