MyHealth Centre is looking for a qualified MRI Technologist to join our growing team of healthcare professionals! You will be responsible for performing high quality diagnostic images to assist the physician with the diagnosis and treatment of patients while maintaining patient care standards. MyHealth Centre is the largest operator of independent diagnostic health facilities in Ontario. More than 15,000 Ontario healthcare providers refer their patients to MyHealth Centre’s 40 accredited locations for OHIP-covered cardiology, imaging, women’s health, telehealth, and sleep diagnostic services.

Duties

• Patient care including: greeting the patient, explaining the upcoming test, reviewing the requisition and completing the medical history form.
• Observes the patient during the diagnostic procedure from the control room and summons medical aid when necessary.
• Operates MRI equipment to produce the highest possible quality diagnostic result with minimum discomfort to the patient.
• Follows MRI safety regulations and guidelines to minimize risk to other staff and patients.
• Conducts examinations in accordance with CMRITO, MRI and MyHealth Centre’s protocols, policies, and procedures.
• Assists in the research and development activities of the clinic.
• Assists in planning the Quality Assurance program and performs Quality Control testing.
• Applies independent judgment and critical thinking during the examination to ensure that all appropriate data is accurately captured in the images.
• Maintains work areas in a clean and orderly condition and ensures the examination rooms are properly supplied, equipped and operational before, during and after each shift.
• Ensures that all equipment is well maintained and in good working order and assists in maintaining a current inventory of routine supplies.
• Works with cross functional teams and other staff to assist with patient care as needed.
• Maintains continuous professional development in MRI.
• Ensures all quality control assessments are performed as required.
• Takes all reasonable precautions and works in compliance with related policies, health and safety legislation and best practices.
• Follows procedures for proper equipment maintenance are completed in accordance with department standards.
• Ensures equipment and instruments are performing in an efficient and effective manner.
• Prepares reports as required.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• 0-2 years of related experience, performing MRI is an asset.
• Currently registered with CMRITO or pursuing CMRITO.
• MRI diploma/degree
• Proof of Professional Liability Insurance
• Experience with GE scanner (HDxT platform) is an asset.
• Current CPR certificate.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated commitment to continuing education and training.
• Demonstrate effective decision-making and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in MS Office (MS Word and Outlook)
• Experience with EMR systems
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
