Duties
Are you a skilled and dedicated Respiratory Therapist looking for an opportunity to showcase your expertise in a dynamic healthcare environment? Campbellford Memorial Hospital is currently seeking a Full-Time Respiratory Therapist to join our team and play a vital role in providing exceptional respiratory care to our patients.
Primary Duties
• Work independently as the expert in respiratory therapy at Campbellford Memorial Hospital
• Identify urgent medical conditions within your scope of practice for the immediate attention of the appropriate
physician
• Pulmonary diagnostics within the scope of professional practice, including pulmonary function testing
• Provide therapeutic interventions including:
o Sleep therapy (CPAP, BiPAP)
o Airway management
o Bronchodilator and inhaled medication therapy
o Oxygen and medical gas therapy
• Provide applicable education to patients on their diagnosis and treatment within professional scope
Requirements
Education & Experience
• Diploma in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited program
• Professional registration in good standing with the College of Respiratory Therapists of Ontario (CRTO)
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification
• Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification is an asset
• Experience with critical care and emergency situations
• Pulmonary function testing experience
Skills & Abilities
• Ability to assess, evaluate, and communicate appropriate Respiratory Therapy Care Plans using knowledge
of respiratory mechanics and medical gas delivery devices and indications, contra-indications, and hazards
of therapy
• Demonstrated willingness to continually upgrade skills and be active in the continual development of
Respiratory Services
• Knowledge of anesthesia equipment is an asset
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Computer skills, knowledge EPIC (preferred), Microsoft Office, PACs
• Ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment using excellent organizational and
time management skills to prioritize duties
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work well with patients, staff, and physicians
• Demonstrates an understanding of ethical behaviours and confidentiality requirements in a healthcare
institution
• Ability to represent the Hospital with professionalism and compassion for patients and families
