What program are you in?

I’m going into my third year in the Chiropody program.

What’s your most memorable moment at Michener so far?

For me, it would probably be winning intramurals with my team. We’re called the Hammertoes and we’ve played ball hockey since Year 1. Last semester we won so it was like yay finally!

What TV show are you binge watching right now?

I have never watched the OC in my life and I’ve gotten pretty much destroyed by my roommates for not watching that when I was in high school, so I’m watching the OC right now.

If you could be any animal in the world, what would you be and why?

I’d want to be a penguin. I think they’re the cutest thing in the whole world and they mate for life, so I think that’s really cool. I find them super persistent and they’re just very loyal to their significant other.

What is the funniest thing that happened to you recently?

I had a day where basically everything I would touch, I dropped. So I dropped a full bottle of wine and it cracked everywhere in my room, then I turned around and was going to give chocolate to someone and dropped the whole bag and then I ended up dropping my whole jewellery box as well. It was just one of those super clumsy days where you don’t want to hold anything anymore.

When was the last time you took a risk and what did you learn from it?

Moving to a country by myself for the second time. There’s always that aspect of not knowing where you’re going to live, if you’re going to find a job, where you’re going to put all your stuff, if you’re going to live in a hostel for two weeks. I learned that you can pretty much do anything after that, so it’s about building self-confidence and being more open to talk to people because everyone wants to help a Canadian tourist.

If you could time travel, where would you go?

Probably to when soccer was first created and it was the first FIFA World Cup game. I would love to see how the fans would react and how it was back in the day.

What program are you in?

I’m in my second year of the Respiratory Therapy program.

What Orientation event are you looking forward to most?

The mentalist because it’s really fun watching him, but I’ve never done the Urban Expedition before so I’m looking forward to that too!

What is your best piece of advice for new Michener students?

You’re not alone when you’re in need of any kind of help, whether it’s school or just if you want some advice, there’s always someone around to help you.

What is the funniest thing that happened to you recently?

This is kind of an embarrassing story but everyone else found it funny. I went to the beach with my friends and looked somewhere else for a moment and they all walked away. Then I thought I was following my friend… turned out I wasn’t. I tapped her and she turned around and I was like “sorry!” and just ran the opposite direction. I don’t know what that girl thought.

If money was no object, what would you do?

I’d travel the world. Go to all the different countries and then explore everything that I possibly can because I like to get to know the different cultures. I would just go on a year long vacation.

If you could be any animal in the world, what would you be and why?

I would want to be a bird, just some kind of bird because you’re higher up and you can see everything. I love sightseeing so I’d like to see everything and you can travel across water.

When was the last time you took a risk and what did you learn from it?

Snorkelling is not really a risk but I went snorkelling with sharks. I can kind of swim but not really and then you put sharks in there, and I only know sharks from movies.  This was at one of the Disney World water parks. They had a separate swimming tank with sharks and people go snorkelling across. I overcame two fears: I swam across all by myself and the sharks. I think overcoming your fear is not as bad as it seems when you’re on the other side.
