About the Course
This is a preparatory course for the Sonography Canada core credentialing exam. It consists of six (6) modules, each with an associated quiz to verify retention of the material, in addition to a final exam.
Delivery is virtual and asynchronous (independent study) with the availability of a tutor to answer questions where needed. This course provides a thorough review of all examinable competencies, which includes:
- Operation of equipment
- Technical analysis
- Self-protection
- Legal and ethical requirements
- Professional conduct
- Patient safety and comfort
- Equipment maintenance
Outcomes
Upon successful completion of the course, learners will be able to:
- Integrate ultrasound physics and instrumentation principles into practical scanning, equipment operation and maintenance
- Adapt patient management approach in response to safety and comfort parameters
- Produce complete and accurate documentation of the ultrasound exam
- Engage in self-protection practices
- Examine the legal and ethical requirements of the sonographer’s role
