About the Course

Hematology Micro-credential (HEMC110) is a 12-week online course that consists of weekly synchronous sessions, online content, with three (3) mandatory in-person sessions held at The Michener Institute of Education at UHN, held over three (3) weekends, for simulated lab experience.

This program is intended for medical laboratory assistants / technicians (MLA/MLT), with the support of their employers, who are already working in the Hematology or Biochemistry area and would like to achieve a micro-credential in Hematology.

NOTE: Successful completion of the Hematology Micro-credential for MLA course alone does not qualify an individual to become a registered Medical Laboratory Technologist with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario (CMLTO). We suggest you reach out to CMLTO directly to confirm what is required to become a registered MLT with them.
