Full Member

Full membership shall be conveyed to anyone who has graduated from a full-time or part-time diploma program, as well as certificate programs as defined by the Office of the Registrar at The Michener Institute formerly the Toronto Institute of Medical Technology.

Associate Member

An individual interested in The Michener Institute and/or the Association may become an associate member upon application and payment of a fee. Members of The Michener Institute Corporation are automatically Associate Members of the Association.

Honourary Member

The Association Board may confer honourary membership on any person who has rendered outstanding service to The Michener Institute or to the Alumni Association. Honourary membership is awarded according to criteria, which are reviewed on a regular basis.

Rights and Privileges

All members in good standing shall possess the following rights and privileges:

• To vote in elections of the Alumni Association on matters affecting the Alumni Association
• To speak, make petitions and suggestions at any meeting of the Alumni Association
• To propose and advocate activities which promote the interests of the Alumni Association membership and The Michener Institute
• To hold office on the Alumni Association Board of Directors

Student Member

A current full-time, part-time or advanced diploma student. Student Alumni Association membership is included in the student activity fee.

Student Member Rights and Privileges

All student members in good standing shall possess the following rights and privileges:

• To vote in elections of the Alumni Association on matters affecting the Alumni Association
• To participate in any Alumni Association affinity program
• To propose and advocate activities which promote the interests of the Association membership and The Michener Institute
• To speak, make petitions and suggestions at any meeting of the Association

Volunteer Opportunities

Since June 2012, the alumni association saw a 56% increase in volunteers supporting various Michener initiatives, including student job search rounds, career panels, MMI and Michener Alumni News.

We are grateful to our alumni, students and friends, who are already part of Michener’s volunteer team and we thank you.  Your involvement is instrumental in helping the alumni association build lifelong relationships with Michener graduates and creating a lasting legacy for Michener.
