THE RESIDENCE ADVANTAGE
Residence life at The Michener Institute is fun, safe and convenient. There are many benefits to choosing residence accommodation at Schatz Hall. You immediately have a network of classmates with whom to work on assignments or study; you are in the same building as your classes, library and computer la b s and you are within walking distance to the downtown amenities. Furthermore, you are not locked into a 12-month lease which is customary for most rental apartments and houses in the city.
At Michener our residence population tends to be a mature group of students (more closely related to grad housing) that values both a quality residence experience and education. Schatz Hall is organized to help you achieve your education in a friendly, supportive and inclusive environment. We believe that residence is much more than simply a place to live: it’s also an opportunity to experience a diverse community with people from every region of the globe.
This can help you prepare for success in our increasingly interconnected world.
Residence l i fe provides a terrific opportunity t o meet friends and study-mates. We hire Residence Dons (senior Michener students) to live on each floor and assist with all aspects of residence life such a providing personal and/or academic support, organizing floor activities and working with the Student Success Network to make your time with us the best experience possible!
Residence fees f or the entire a c a d e mic year are payable in advance (fees for 2017/2018 – $795.00 to $845.00 per month). However, payment can also be made in two installments subject to a $25 deferred payment fee. Payment in full or for the first installment is due by August 15th, and the second installment due by February 1st.
