Established in 2013 by Janey Hacke, President of Respan Products Inc., this award is presented to a second-year student in recognition of their extensive volunteering in their community (including at Michener) during the academic year, or who is actively caring for dependents while pursuing their studies.

Nomination/Reference Requirements: A letter of support from the organization where the student volunteers OR if the application is based on caring for dependents, the student is required to submit an essay (500 words maximum) illustrating how he/she has managed to successfully complete Year 1 despite competing priorities.
