Admission Steps

To ensure you receive equal consideration in the admission process, your application must be received by the application deadline. Apply early as Michener receives many more qualified applicants than there are available spaces. Application deadlines and application methods vary by program type.

Admissions Steps for Full-Time Programs

STEP 1: Choose A Program

Please note that applications to Cardiovascular Perfusion opens in November via Michener Self-Service. For applications to the University of Toronto Joint Programs – Nuclear Medicine, Radiation Therapy and Radiological Technology, please visit University of Toronto’s MRS Admissions.

Visit the program pages to view the program requirements and review the admission requirements.

STEP 2: Apply

Apply at ontariocolleges.ca by February 1st, 2022 and pay the $95 application fee and the $55 Michener Supplemental Application fee.

STEP 3:  Michener Acknowledgment

All applicants will receive an acknowledgement email from Michener with your six-digit Michener ID (prepended by 3 zeros), program choices and other important information on how to track your application status.

STEP 4: Submit Your Transcripts

Send official copies of your transcript(s) to ontariocolleges.ca .

STEP 5: Submit Your Supporting Documents

Submit any outstanding documents by the February 8, 2022 deadline.

Supporting documents (aside from transcripts) such as; resumes, applicant experience checklists, recommendation and reference letters must be submitted to ask-us@ontariocolleges.ca. All documents submitted become the property of Ontario Colleges and will not be returned.

STEP 6: Complete the Computer Based Assessment for Sampling Personal Characteristics (Casper)

Applicants must register at takeCASPer using their OCAS Application Number (9-digit number found on your OCAS dashboard) or Michener ID (6-digit number found on the application acknowledgment email) to complete the CASPer assessment. CASPer results will be sent to Michener automatically and will be used along with published admission requirements to rank applicants and offer admission.

STEP 7:  Offer Of Admission

Offers of Admission will be sent out beginning in April to top ranked applicants, who will be given a deadline to accept their offer (OCAS and OUAC) and pay a non-refundable deposit of $500.00. Offers will continue until each program intake is full. If you receive a conditional offer, it means that you are still completing some of the admission requirements. Please make sure to submit all the missing admission requirements by the specified date.   

STEP 8: Post Admission Requirements

Offers of admission will include details related to Mandatory Post-Admission Requirements, including Health Requirements, a Vulnerable Sector Check and agreements related to Mask Fit Testing and adherence to Michener policies. Please see the Post-Admissions Requirements for more information.

Admissions Steps for Part-Time Programs

Please note that the steps outlined below apply to Anesthesia Assistant and Magnetic Resonance Imaging Programs.

STEP 1: Choose A Program

Visit the program pages to view the program requirements and review the admission requirements.

STEP 2: Apply

Apply at ontariocolleges.ca  by the deadline and pay the $95 application fee and the $55 Michener Supplemental Application Fee.

STEP 3: Submit Supporting Documents

Submit any outstanding documents by the May 31, 2022 deadline.

Supporting documents (aside from transcripts) such as; resumes, applicant experience checklists, recommendation and reference letters must be submitted to ask-us@ontariocolleges.ca. All documents submitted become the property of Ontario Colleges and will not be returned.

STEP 4:  Michener Acknowledgment

All applicants will receive an acknowledgement email from Michener with your program choices and other important information on how to monitor your application status.  – you will be acknowledged and assessed

STEP 5:  Offer Period

Once the application deadline has passed, a decision will be made about your application. All communications including application updates and offers will be sent via email.

Admissions Steps for Graduate Programs

STEP 1: Choose A Program

Visit the Master of Science in Cardiovascular Perfusion page to view the program requirements and review the admission requirements.

STEP 2: Apply

Apply at Michener Self-Service by February 1, 2022 and pay the non-refundable $135 application fee.

*Applications will open on November 15, 2021.

STEP 3: Michener Acknowledgment

All applicants will receive an acknowledgement email from Michener with your six-digit Michener ID (prepended by 3 zeros), and other important information on how to track your application status within five business days.

STEP 4: Submit Your Transcripts

Send official copies of your official transcript(s) to Michener by February 8, 2022 deadline.

  • You must request electronic copies of your post-secondary (university/college) transcripts to be sent directly by the institution to admissions@michener.ca. Any transcript submitted directly by the applicant will not be considered. If your institution does not support electronic transcripts, physical transcripts may be sent to: Registrar’s Office, Michener Institute of Education at UHN, 222 St. Patrick Street, Toronto ON M5T 1V4
  • If you have foreign transcripts, you will be required to submit either a post graduate comprehensive course-by-course report from the International Credential Assessment Service of Canada (ICAS) or a comprehensive report from the World Evaluation Services (WES). These must be submitted directly by the credential services to admissions@michener.ca. For more information, please visit the Internationally Educated Applicants page.

STEP 5: Submit Your Supporting Documents

Submit any outstanding documents by the February 8, 2022 deadline.

Supporting documents (aside from transcripts) such as: letter of intent, resumes, applicant experience checklist, recommendation and reference letters must be uploaded through the Graduate Program Document Upload in Michener Self-Service. All documents submitted become the property of Michener Institute and will not be returned.

STEP 6: Complete the Computer Based Assessment for Sampling Personal Characteristics (CASPer)

Applicants must register at takeAltus using their OCAS Application Number (9-digit number found on your OCAS dashboard) or Michener ID (excluding the zeros, 6-digit number found on the application acknowledgment email) to complete the CASPer assessment. CASPer results will be sent to Michener automatically and will be used along with published admission requirements to rank applicants and offer admission.

*CASPer Snapshot is not required for Fall 2022.

Admissions Steps for Other Programs

Application deadlines vary by program. Please note that the steps outlined below apply to Advanced Foot & Wound Care Fellowship and Continuing Education Certificate – Fixed Enrolment Programs.

STEP 1: Choose A Program

Visit the certificates program page to view the program requirements and review the admission requirements.

STEP 2: Apply

Complete the Part-Time Application form by the deadline and pay the $35 application fee to admissions@michener.ca

STEP 3 : Submit Supporting Documents

Submit any outstanding documents to admissions@michener.ca by the deadline. All documents submitted become the property of Michener Institute and will not be returned. We strongly encourage you to upload all document at one time.

STEP 4:  Michener Acknowledgment

All applicants will receive an acknowledgement email from Michener with your program choices and other important information on how to monitor your application status.
