Your healthcare education journey has begun.

Welcome to Michener! Congratulations on taking your first step towards a fulfilling career in healthcare. The Michener community is excited to welcome you this fall! In preparation for September, we have compiled details about what to expect next and other requirements to fulfill before the start of classes.

  1. Fulfill the conditions of your offer
    If you have received a conditional offer of admission, make sure to submit the required documents to admissions@michener.ca by the Provisional offer deadline. The conditions of your admission are on your Michener offer letter.
  2. Sign the attestation form
    As a newly admitted student, you must review and agree to meet specific health and safety standards which are provincially mandated and/or are required by Michener through the Attestation form.
  3. Submit your health requirements
    To avoid any delays, make sure to read the health requirements carefully and submit them through Michener Self-Service by the deadline specified on your offer letter. Contact healthservices@michener.ca if you have any questions.
  4. Apply for your Study Permit (International Students Only)
    All international students require a valid study permit to study in Canada. Due to processing times, you are strongly encouraged to submit your study permit application as soon as you have accepted your offer. Provincial Attestation Letter (PAL) will be issued within 10 business days after paying your deposit.

    You can expect to receive your Michener email account by late June. This email account will serve as your login credential for various Michener services, including
  6. Explore Michener Self-Service Portal and MichBrite
    Michener Self-Service portal is your one-stop portal where you can upload health documents, check and pay your tuition fees, access final grades, request transcripts, and more. Important announcements are also posted on your Self-Service dashboard.
    MichBrite is your learning portal where you can access all materials related to your courses. This includes submitting your assignments, participating in discussions, tracking your test scores and more.
  7. Check your Fall schedules
    Michener follows a block schedule per program. All admitted students will be registered and assigned to lab groups automatically. You may view your schedule on My.Michener – Academic Schedules. Schedules will be released in August.
  8. Know your Tuition fees and payment deadlines
    Tuition fees at Michener are billed per semester. You will receive your Fall tuition fee statement in July via . Payments can be made through the Self-Service portal or Online Banking before the payment deadlines. Please note that a $150 late fee may be imposed for late payments. A 2.50% surcharge may apply if payment is made via credit card. To check the current tuition and other fees, visit the Domestic or the International fees website.
    Most Michener programs are OSAP-eligible. You are strongly encouraged to apply for student financial aid (Ontario Student Assistance Program or equivalent out-of-province aid) as early as possible to avoid any disbursement delays. Please contact the Financial Aid Officer at regoffice@michener.ca if you have any questions about OSAP or other financial aid.

  9. Plan your commute or accommodation
    Plan your routes early! All in-person classes are held in the St. Patrick Campus while MRS students may have some of their classes held at University of Toronto, St. George campus. If you are travelling on the GO transit system, you can register for student fare discount.
    Should you need to relocate, Michener offers in-campus residence. Act early as spots become full easily. For more information about student housing, please visit Student Residence.
  10. Register for accessibility or academic accommodation
    If you have any documented disability, you can register through Michener’s Accessibility and Accommodation services prior to the start of the Fall term.
  11. Attend the Orientation
    Orientation is an excellent chance to familiarize you with the Michener community. As a new student, you will have the opportunity to connect with students from within and outside your program of study, staff, your professors and program Chairs and learn about the services available to help you succeed at Michener.
  12. Connect with Student Success Network (SSN) and Student Clubs
    Get to know the services that are available to you as a Michener student. You can also get involved on campus through special interest clubs. For more information about Student life at Michener, go to Student Success Network.
